HOLT runners complete Asics 10 k run
July 12, 2009
For the 2nd year, the Heritage of London Trust sponsored runners in the Asics 10K London run on Sunday July 12th. It looked as if it would be a dreary, rainy day, but as the 26,000 runners slowly wound their way up to the starting line at Hyde Park Corner the sun came out. The race began at 9:35am, and it took over an hour for all the racers to cross the starting line and head east along Piccadilly. The route takes in some of London's finest monuments, including the Ritz, St James's Palace and the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben before the runners turn onto the embankment and continue East to the City. Near St Paul's the runners turn back and returned along the Embankment to the finish in Whitehall.
This year HOLT had 4 runners taking part: Edward Stumm, Sorrel Comley, Jonathan Basher, and Johanna Gibbons. We are very grateful that they decided to support us by running and raising money for us. We do hope that they enjoyed the day! Sponsorship is still coming in, so we hope to have an update of how much money our runners raised soon.
