Asics British 10k London Run, July 6th, 2008

Some of the 23,000 runner pass The Ritz in Piccadilly – some were dressed in interesting costumes

On Sunday July 6th, 6 Friends of HOLT ran the Asics British 10K London run to raise money for the Trust. Paddy Pugh and Susie Barson of English Heritage, along with HOLT friends Patricia Williams, Janet Thomson, Jessica Beattie and Edward Draper-Stumm, ran through changing conditions of sun, rain and wind from Hyde Park Corner to the City and back to Whitehall, on a route which passed The Ritz, St James’s Palace, Pall Mall, the Embankment and Big Ben. All our runners completed the course in good time, ranging from about 40 minutes to 70 minutes - not easy when being jostled by 23,000 other runners. In fact, there were so many people taking part that it took well over an hour for all the participants to cross the starting line!

Ed is thrilled with his medal at the end of 10K!

Everyone enjoyed it and all together they raised well over £1,000 for Heritage of London Trust projects, If you want to support the runners, Patricia, Jessie and Edward have webpages attached to the HOLT justgiving page: www.justgiving.com/heritageoflondon - then click on "raise money for the charity" to see their pages.

WELL DONE AND A BIG THANKS TO ALL
