Public Sculpture and Monuments Scheme

In partnership with English Heritage, and working closely with the Public Monuments and Sculptures Association, the Heritage of London Trust is setting up a fund to help with the restoration of public monuments and sculptures. Both EH and HOLT have agreed to put £25,000 into this scheme, which will be launched in November 2008. It is hoped that this fund will be able to offer small grants to allow local groups to make minor repairs and clean their local monuments, memorials and sculptures, as a way of encouraging civic pride and local environmental projects. Further details of this scheme will be available soon.

If you would like to learn more about the scheme, contact the office, or come to a special lecture the Trust is hosting on November 13th: "Sir Richard Burton, his life, travels and tomb" by Neil McNeil. To be held at St Gabriel's Church, Warwick Square (nearest tube: Victoria). Tickets cost £2 for HOLT friends and £3 for non-members and are available by contacting our office: 020 7730 9472.
